Harry Preston and Prestons’ Ginger Beer are busy building out a brewery, the newest addition to the Miralani Makers’ District (8680 Miralani Drive). Preston, using the South African recipe of his family and homeland, hopes to open by the end of November with a tasting room and five-barrel brew system in a 1,000-square-foot space.
On tap will be the original brew, plus seasonal varieties infusing ingredients such as coconut, guava, cherry, honey, cucumber, and Granny Smith apple. To be determined is whether Preston will be able to pour alcoholic ginger beer on tap, and he’s working on a pre-made vodka cocktail bottle for retail sale.
The plan is bring in food vendors on weekends: Bing Haus (soft service ice cream ginger beer floats) and Perky’s (South African-style meat pie and dried meat experts) for example.
Prestons’ will join Miralani’s beverage makers 2kids Brewing, Align Brewing, Charlie & Echo Wine, Lost Cause Meadery, Protector Brewery, Serpentine Cider, Setting Sun Sake, Swinford Spirits, and Thunderhawk Alements.
