Eat & drink well while supporting local wildlife! Farm To Bay is a culinary celebration taking place August 4th from 4 to 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Living Coast Discovery Center, a nonprofit zoo/aquarium located within a national wildlife refuge on the San Diego Bay in Chula Vista.
Farm To Bay will bring together more than 30 of San Diego’s choice restaurants, breweries, wineries, and specialty beverage purveyors to support coastal wildlife, education and sustainability programs at the Living Coast.
The evening includes live music performances, live and silent auctions, and up-close animal encounters with the Living Coast Discovery Center’s beloved animal ambassadors, including endangered Eastern Pacific green sea turtles, sharks, rays, hawks, eagles, owls, reptiles, and more.
Confirmed restaurant partners include George’s at the Cove, The Fish Market/Top of the Market, Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub, Sushi on a Roll, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Mission Avenue Bar & Grill, Dang Brother Pizza, Big Front Door, Grindhouse, Rubio’s Coastal Grill, Nomad Donuts, Amore Cheesecakes, Cravory Cookies, Woobar, Sprouts Farmers Market Chula Vista and Eastlake, and Jimbo’s Naturally.
Beverage partners include Boochcraft, Cutwater Spirits, Golden Coast Mead, Barefoot, Fruitcraft Fermentery & Distillery, Granite Lions Cellars, Quigley Fine Wines, Wiens Family Cellars, 3 Punk Ales, Bay Bridge Brewery, Chula Vista Brewery, Second Chance Beer Co., Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Cool Down Coffee, and Zico Coconut Water.
In keeping with the Living Coast’s commitment to the environment and sustainability, Farm To Bay makes strides to be a zero-waste event. In 2017, 88 percent of Farm to Bay event waste (385 pounds) was recycled or composted and diverted from landfills – the highest totals ever for the event. Since 2013, Farm to Bay has continued to reduce its overall waste by offering reusable and earth-friendly materials. Event waste is hand-sorted and composted onsite thanks to the efforts of the City of Chula Vista’s master composters.
Tickets are on sale now at thelivingcoast.org/farmtobay for $100, with discounted packages for multiple tickets.
The event is made possible by the generous support of its sponsors, including this year’s presenting sponsors, Marine Group Boat Works and Seven Mile Casino, as well as the Port of San Diego, UTC Aerospace Systems–Aerostructures, Chula Vista Clean, Cox Communications, Mission Federal Credit Union, SDG&E, Baldwin & Sons, Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Republic Services, Sprouts Farmers Market Chula Vista and Eastlake, Wells Fargo, Jim Biddle, CityLink Foundation, General Dynamics NASSCO, Hoffman Hanono Insurance Services, The Lewis Group, MA Engineers, Miller Hull, Southwestern College, and The San Diego Foundation.
